Ouachita Parish Schools to reopen on Friday

The Ouachita Parish School System Weather Team has been back out across the parish today assessing road conditions. 

Although there remain spots of mushy accumulation, we expect with the rising temperatures that those areas will continue to improve throughout the day.

Our Maintenance Staff continues to address pockets of water pipe issues around the District, but we feel these issues will be resolved later this afternoon.

Although there could be some areas of melting accumulation remaining in the morning, we feel roads have improved enough to reopen schools Friday, January 19, 2024.
