District Recognizes 2023 Students of the Year

Thirty-four Ouachita Parish students who were selected as Students of the Year for their respective schools were recognized during a luncheon where the three district finalists were announced. The 5th, 8th, and 12th grade students chosen by their schools interviewed for the top spots through a rigorous speaking, writing, and portfolio competition. The district recognized each school representative prior to announcing the Top 5 in elementary, Top 3 in middle, and finally the district finalists in all levels. The three finalists will further compete at regional and state levels. We wish them all the best in the next part of their journey!

The recognition event would not be possible without support from our outstanding sponsors:  Centric Federal Credit Union (title sponsor), Ascent (award sponsor), Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union, Tim Brandon Architects, University of Louisiana Monroe, and West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.  The event was held at the beautiful Bayou Pointe Center at ULM, with a delicious lunch from Aramark Catering.

The recorded livestream of the event is available here:  https://youtu.be/ky-ONeGEiiw
