PreK 2026–2027

PRE-K ROUNDUP IS MONDAY, MARCH 16. NO CURRENT PRE-K STUDENTS WILL ATTEND ON THIS DAY.
OPEN ENROLLMENT IS THE WEEK OF MARCH 16-20, 2026
If your child will be 4 years old on or by September 30, 2026, you can visit
one of the schools below to apply for 2026-27 Pre-K.
WESTSIDE: Boley, Calhoun, Crosley, Drew, Highland, Lenwil, Pinecrest, Riser, Woodlawn
EASTSIDE: Jack Hayes, Lakeshore, Robinson, Shady Grove, Sterlington, Swartz Lower, Swayze
Documents that you will need to provide for a complete registration: (incomplete packets will not be accepted)
- Birth Certificate or Legal documents to show Guardianship
- Current Shot Record (does not have to be up-to-date)
- Social Security Card (or notice that you have applied for one)
- Two Proofs of Residence in the name of the birth parent - 2 current bill copies such as: Utilities (electric, water, gas), Lease, Mortgage or Deed (no cell phone bills)
- Income Documentation - (as it applies to you from the following)
TWO (2) consecutive wage statements from the month of or month preceding the application date
for EACH working parent in the home
OR SNAP/Food Stamp printout with all family names shown
OR Foster Care agreement from DCFS
OR Letter from employer (signed/dated) stating the average number of hours worked per week and rate of pay
*You must live in Ouachita Parish (and not inside Monroe city limits) to be eligible for the Ouachita Parish Schools PreK program.
CHILD SEARCH
Programs are available for children ages 3-5 who may have developmental delays in the following areas:
• Cognitive
• Communication
• Gross/Fine Motor
• Sensory
• Social
• Self Help
• OR any other concerns that will make school a difficult experience.
For a screening/evaluation of children ages 3-5, NOT enrolled in school, contact Tammy Soileau, Screening Clinic Coordinator, 432-5400 to make an appointment.
If your child IS enrolled in school, and you feel that they are experiencing a delay in development, please contact your child’s school.
