Principals of the Year announced at annual Employees of Distinction Banquet

Ouachita Parish School System is pleased to announce the 2025-26 Principals of the Year for the district.

The awards were announced at the Employees of Distinction Banquet on Tuesday evening at the West Monroe Convention Center.

Robinson Elementary Principal Angela Spivey is the 2025-26 Ouachita Parish Elementary Principal of the Year.

Mrs. Spivey began teaching 6th grade in Ouachita Parish in 2006, following five years in a different district. She has served in many roles, including assistant principal and was named principal of Shady Grove Elementary in 2018.

She moved to Robinson Elementary in the same role in 2022.

Angela is described by her staff and faculty as fair and hardworking, serving as the ultimate cheerleader with tremendous support for her students and employees. Angela earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s of education degree from ULM.

Throughout her tenure with the system, Angela has always kept the best interests of her students and community as priority. Her caring and committed leadership is demonstrated daily, and we commend her for her dedication.

The Ouachita Parish Middle School Principal of the Year is Ms. DeBorah Brown from Richwood Middle School.

DeBorah began her teaching career in 1979, and came to Ouachita Parish in 1985. She became assistant principal of Richwood Middle in 2010 and principal in 2022. DeBorah is described as an excellent leader who motivates her faculty to realize a high level of performance ensures student success. She trusts every student can reach their full potential and accepts nothing but the best effort from all.

DeBorah earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeast Louisiana University, her Master’s Degree from Louisiana Tech, and her Plus 30 from University of Louisiana at Monroe. She is a steadfast supporter and recognized leader in her community.

Sterlington High School Principal Doll Ann Johnson is the 2025-26 Ouachita Parish High School Principal of the Year.

Mrs. Johnson is in her year as the Sterlington High principal. Prior to that, she served as assistant principal after serving as teacher and counselor at Sterlington High for 10 years. As a positive role model, Doll Ann encourages her staff and students every day to do and be their best. She embraces the mission of her school, the district, and the community to ensure that students are college and career ready for success in a global community.

Doll Ann earned her Bachelors, Masters, and Plus 30 Degrees all from University of Louisiana Monroe. She is respected and admired by her faculty and community.

Principals of the Year are nominated and voted on by their peers.

Middle School: DeBorah Brown, Richwood Middle School

High School: Doll All Johnson, Sterlington Middle School
