Ouachita Parish Schools closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26-27 due to Winter Storm Fern
Ouachita Parish Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in anticipation for Winter Storm Fern and its aftermath.
The National Weather Service has escalated the winter storm watch to a severe winter storm warning for north Louisiana.
As part of its weather briefings with OPSB, NWS forecasts wintry precipitation and dangerously cold conditions, beginning Friday evening through early next week.
The OPSB District Crisis Team will continue with its weather briefings, as well as ongoing conversations with local weather partners and area superintendents. Decisions about schools re-opening later in the week will be made once the storm’s aftermath is assessed.
