How did you get into education?

Education has always been my calling. I have never considered any other profession!

When did you realize you wanted to go beyond the classroom and become an administrator?

I was in my fifth year of teaching when I realized I wanted to do more to advocate for teachers and students in the school setting.

What kind of leader do you want to be?

I want to be the leader I needed and wanted when I was in the classroom. My aim is to be an effective communicator with all parties, a good listener, instructional leader, empathetic to situations that arise, collaborator, work with others to promote problem solving, and be accountable. I want the best for my school and must be willing to do my best in all areas for that result!

What do you want to accomplish in the first nine weeks as principal?

Within the first nine weeks, I want to promote and foster an environment that welcomes all students to a safe, encouraging, and supportive learning setting while instilling the belief that every child can experience academic growth if they are willing to try.

Who is Annie away from school? Tell us about your personal life, hobbies and your family.

I will be celebrating my 37th anniversary this fall with my husband, Ronald, and we are the parents to two adult children, Karen and Dylan. My family is the center of my life! I enjoy photography, reading, listening to crime podcasts, and spending time with my family.
