Talented Art Students Win Scholarships from Rodrigue Art Foundation

Two Ouachita Parish Talented Art program students earned top recognitions in the George Rodrigue Foundation Scholarship Art Contest.  The contest is open to Louisiana high school juniors and seniors, who submit original works of art, which are judged on concept/design, technical skill, and creativity.  This year’s theme was Louisiana’s Culinary Heritage.

Callan Thornton – West Monroe High School

Callan placed 1st in senior competition for her piece titled “Fresher Than Expected” earning a $5,000 scholarship. Callan’s teacher is Phillip Peyton.

Abigail Rinaudo – Ouachita Parish High School

 

Abigail received 3rd Place in senior competition for her piece titled “Ruston’s Sweetest Peach” earning a $3,000 scholarship.  Abigail’s teacher is Anne Gilbert.
