Substitute teacher applications may be picked up in the Personnel Department of the Ouachita Parish School Board’s Central Office Monday through Friday, 8am until 4pm. Substitute teacher applicants must be a high school graduate and at least 21 years of age unless enrolled as a full time college student. All substitute teacher applicants are required to provide his or her driver’s license and social security card. All substitute teacher applicants are required to be fingerprinted by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. There will be a charge of five (5) dollars assessed to the applicant by the Sheriff’s Office. All substitute teacher applicants are required to provide a copy of his or her college transcript or teaching certificate, if applicable. The pay scale per day for a substitute teacher is as follows: Non-Degree (less than a Bachelor’s Degree) $40.00 College Degree (Bachelor’s or higher) $45.00 Certified Teacher   $50.00 Permanent Sub (Commencing with the 21st consecutive day in the same position) $100.00
