NBPTS Louisiana State Team Leader
Posted on Thursday, August 07 @ 10:54:28 CDT by aline

OPSB News Jennifer Kelly of Central and Calhoun Elementary Schools was selected as state team leader by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) to lead Louisiana's delegation of National Board Certified Teachers to meet U.S. Members of Congress and discuss education reform. The delegation was joined by several hundred more outstanding teachers from across the country focusing on expanding the dialogue about how National Board Certification is refining the standards for teacher effectiveness and high-quality student learning in the 21st century.

“I applaud my fellow National Board Certified Teachers who participated in these important conversations and the impact they will have on our children’s futures,” said Kelly who achieved National Board Certification in 2006. “As teacher leaders, we have important roles to play in shaping the future of our schools and creating environments that support excellence in teaching and learning.”

Jennifer also participated in a promotional video and interview for NBPTS to be used in recruiting and education.
