Highland Holds Social Studies Fair

OPSB News Highland Elementary School recently held our annual Social Studies Fair. Thirty-seven individual projects were entered by the fifth grade. Topics researched by the students included Benazir Bhutto, Kids and Cutting, Louisiana Swamps, and the Potential of a Christian Nation. Special thanks to our judges, Elois Crumpton, Nancy Creekmore, Rhonda Compton, and Tommy Shoemaker.

Grand Prize and First Place in History went to John Thomas Williams for his project entitled LEGOS: Godt Det Bedspe Er Ikke "Only The Best Is Good Enough."

Other First Place winners included Jacob Wilder for "My Place-14th Generation", Mallory Lynn for "Hannah Montana--An Economic Phenomenon", Kerri Gustinger for "Creatures of the Deep", Wesley Drake for "To Buckle Up or Not", and Baylee Williams for "Locks of Love." Second Place winners are Chris Salazar, Justin Wilson, Reagan McGuffee, Chassidy Snider, and Caroline Smith. Third Place winners are Brittney Taylor, Hunter Ferris, Audrey Mattingly, Sanyga Sharma, and Jade White.

Congratulations to all participants for a phenomenal job!
