OJHS News Reporters Receive National Nod!

Ouachita Junior High School's Cubs' Chronicles staff members recently received recognition from their web host, www.my.schooljournalism.org, which is sponsored by the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Every month the site highlights one of its nearly 800 participants that exemplifies sound journalistic practices.
The Cubs' Chronicles became Louisiana's first online school newspaper when it was established last year. The effort was funded through a grant received by the group’s sponsor, Tiffany Jackson, from the Monroe Junior League.
Governor Bobby Jindal graced the paper's premier issue cover as a gubernatorial hopeful in October. This staff of seventh and eighth grade students can now say they took a picture with the youngest sitting governor in the United States!!
