Swayze Elementary Receives Dollar General Grant

Swayze Elementary School has been awarded a Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant of $1000. The funds from this grant will be used to purchase audio books, CD players with headphones, and other instructional materials that will augment the reading program. The purpose of the grant is to increase academic achievement in reading. This grant was developed through the cooperative efforts of Leslie Porter, librarian, Mary Jane Robison, Read 180 teacher, and Wilma Smith, Curriculum Coordinator. The principal, faculty, staff and students are elated about receiving this grant because it will impact the instructional program in a positive way.
