Students and faculty at Lenwil Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday during the week of February 26 through March 2. This has become a tradition at Lenwil. The faculty and staff hopes this yearly event introduces the children to many of the exciting books given to us by Dr. Seuss. Some of the events that we had were art contests, trivia questions, reading buddies and special guest readers. On Wednesday morning, the cafeteria prepared "green eggs and ham" for breakfast. On Thursday, the students were asked to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. Participating students were invited to a big birthday party. Special thanks go to our PTO for providing the cake. On Friday, we had a big awards assembly. Students who met their AR goal for the week got a chance to throw a pie at our building supervisor, Mr. Steve. Everyone enjoyed the celebration!
