Two Ouachita Parish School Yearbooks Chosen as National Samples

The 2007 Rebelaire, West Monroe High School’s yearbook, and the 2007 Komet, Kiroli Elementary School's yearbook, were both chosen as national samples for Taylor Publishing Company. In their respective divisions, both yearbooks were part of approximately 200 selected, which represents less than 2% of the yearbooks produced by Taylor nationwide. The sample copies of Rebelaire and Komet will be used by Taylor representatives and as resources in journalism workshops across the country.
The Rebelaire is no stranger to the attention as it has won many awards and distinctions in the past years. However, this is a first for Kiroli's Komet. In fact, company representatives expressed that it is very rare for an elementary yearbook to be chosen. Kiroli yearbook coordinators are Janice Comeaux and Lisa Payton.
Senior Angela Groce is the 2007 Rebelaire editor, and Mrs. Tammy Binns is the faculty adviser. Members of the Rebelaire staff include Tina Ardoin, Mallory Bernice, Carly Hogg, Kelsi Lindsey, Elaina Mitchell, Lauren Ogles, Jessica Taylor, Jordan Walden, Ryne Haynie, and Lauren Hearn.
