News: WOHS 4-H Helps the Animal Shelter

For two weeks, the West Ouachita High School 4-H Club collected money and listed items for the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. Since a tax that funded the shelter was not renewed, the club felt inspired to help. They collected over $300.00 and a pick-up truck load of food, toys, cleaning supplies, and other necessities. A contest was created between first period classes for a prize winning breakfast. Mrs. Michelle Norred's and Mrs. Sherry Helms's classes tied for first place and both won the breakfast. Ms. Linda Traweek's class will be treated with a prize for second place. The 4-H club was happy to help the animal shelter and hopes to make this an annual event.
