West Monroe High School Presents The Holocaust Remembered

Three important classics dealing with the Holocaust are to be presented by the West Monroe High School Theatre Department. Schools are invited to attend: Number the Stars, May 1 at 9:00 A.M. and 12 P.M. I Never Saw Another Butterfly, Friday, May 12 at 9:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. and The Diary of Anne Frank, Friday May 19 at 12:30 P.M. Admission for students is $2.00 for each play. The project is embraced by the department as part of The International Holocaust Remembered and Tolerance Project and will be an annual work. These plays are to presented next year along with Night by Elie Wiesel and Brundibar by Maurice Sendak and Tony Kushner. Other works will be added. Outstanding websites and lesson plans are available upon request. Jasie Martello a fifth grader from Kiroli Elementary has the title role of Annemarie Johansen. Hannah Gissendanner plays Kirsti in Number the Stars.
