OPSB News Students from Ouachita Parish were recently honored at the Annual Grambling State University Art Competition.

Ouachita Parish High School student, Jackson Knott, won the “Jessica Brantley Award” for 3rd place at the competition. The judge was Mr. Paul Wandless, a nationally recognized ceramic artist from Upland, Pennsylvania. A $50 award was presented to Jackson at a reception in the Dunbar Hall Art Gallery. His artwork, titled “Circuit Board,” is a charcoal and conte medium on 3’x4’ brown paper. Congratulations, Jackson!

Sterlington High School and Mrs. Leah Reitzell are proud to announce that two art students received awards in the annual competition. Elizabeth Folk (9th grade) won 2nd Place overall, and is the winner of a 75 dollar prize. Brittany Woods (11th grade) also received honorable mention in the show.
