News: National School Counseling Week Feb. 2-6

The week of February 2, 2004, has been designated as National School Counseling Week. School Counselors help develop well rounded students by guiding them through their acedemic, personal, social, and career development. Students face a myriad of challenges every day, including peer pressure, depression, and school violence. School counselors are ususally the only professionals in a school building that are trained in both education and mental health. The celebration of school counseling week is designed to increase awareness of the important and necessary role school counselors play in the lives of students.
