Posted on Wednesday, February 22 @ 10:38:25 CST by aline

OPSB News The Art Teachers of Ouachita Parish (ATOP) recently attended the "Georgia O'Keeffe Color and Conservation Exhibit" at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson. Ten Art teachers met at 7:00 a.m. and traveled together to view an educational and inspiring exhibit of some of O'Keeffe's impressive paintings.

In each case these memorable paintings had at one time been in need of restoration and/or repair. Information about the problems and solutions was a part of the exhibit. A bonus to the trip was the exhibit of the Mississippi Scholastic Student Show. Words can not express the impression the student art work made on this group of Art teachers. They were taking notes and getting ideas to bring back to their own students. Nothing is more inspirational than the creativity of young artists.

After viewing the exhibits, the teachers gathered to plan for the Parish Wide Student Art Show to be exhibited for the general public March 25, 2006 at OPAC.

Mark this date down and plan to attend. It will be amazing!
