Lauren Ogles, a West Ridge Middle School 8th grade student, recently won an all-expenses-paid trip to New Orleans for her community service records through the 4-H Good Provider Program. Her records were judged over the summer against other 7th and 8th graders from across the state, and she was selected as a state winner from this region. In September, a group from Baton Rouge who are members for the State Agribusiness Council traveled to Ouachita Parish to interview Lauren for the top prize. During the trip over the Thanksgiving break, Lauren was asked to give the student speech for the Good Provider Banquet held at the Superdome. Lauren was then awarded second place in her region and received a $75.00 cash prize. The complete article about the Good Provider program can be read here.
