OPSB.net - West Monroe High School Theatre Department Officer Installation and Induction

The West Monroe High School Theatre Department under the direction of Shirley Allen Fields held its installation of officers for the 2005-2006 year and its induction of over fifty new members Saturday, October 22. The candlelight initiation in the troupe included performances from the present members and followed the theme of "New Faces". All the students participated in an audition creative arts workshop taught by the officers and talents emerged that were spotlighted in performances with Mistress and Master of Ceremonies Destini Pickron and Keith Hendrix.

The following new members were showcased: Kallie Stephenson, Hannah Underwood, Haley Williams, Chase James, Kristina Hite, J. D. Perez, Faye Razon and Charles Razon, Laura Collins, Josh Croom, Nick Amos, Gabby Henderson, Valarie Hall, Marcus Slack, Caleb Ingle, Patricia King, Terrance Smith, Jack Wilson, Chris Pilgreen, Charles Kirby, Dustin Hendrix, Beonica James, and Rachael Smelser. Performers danced The Body Electric from Fame, sang Broadway from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, played musical numbers, recreated children’s' classics and interpreted their original poetry.

The Troupe president is senior Desmond Ross. He is a Varsity Cheerleader and a member of National Society and in National Who's Who and a Key Club member. Other officers are First Vice President. A tentative season opener set sometime in December is the musical Babes in Toyland. A Winter Wonderland Salute to the American Broadway Musical is scheduled for January with a Dinner Theatre or Dinner before the show. More details will be posted.
