Imagine Technology Blackout Day!
Posted on Wednesday, April 20 @ 13:42:07 CDT by aline

OPSB News Mrs. McFarland's 5th grade Social Studies classes participated in a NATION-WIDE contest. The students had to identify influential modern technological advances in commerce, medicine, and industry compared to the past, describe the impact of modern technological inventions on daily life in 2005, and write a Persuasive letter emphasizing the importance of technology within their daily lives. The Persuasive letter dealt with the subject of the Election Process and Campaign and what the whole Election would have been without the uses of today's technology. The students worked without the use of electricity, just pencil, paper, and the human thought process. All of this took place on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, National Technology Blackout Day! The results will be emailed to Washington, D.C.
