SHS Student Council Senior Citizen Dinner

The Sterlington High School Student Council hosted its annual senior citizen Christmas dinner Tuesday, December 7. Michal Meade, vice president, organized the event which was held in the school cafeteria. Student council members Rebecca Griggs and Katey Lara decorated the school for this event. Over 125 guests enjoyed a turkey and dressing dinner prepared by the cafeteria staff who worked over the weekend getting ready. The jazz ensemble of the band played Christmas music and a group of young men, led by Russell Hutzler and Josh Edwards(also Kaleb Hamby, Joe Handy, Will Merritt), sang two Christmas carols. The oldest man and woman were each presented with fruit baskets. Coach Boyd Cole was the jolly Santa who passed out candy canes and student council members presented each guest with an ornament for the tree. Seventy door prizes of poinsettias were also given out. A fabulous time was had by all!
