OPHS Band Wins Marching Band Competition!

Congratulations to the Ouachita Parish High School Marching Band! "The Pride of Ouachita" competed in the 2004 Parkway High School Marching Contest on Saturday, October 16, 2004 in Bossier City, Louisiana. The band competed against other bands from Louisiana and Texas. The Pride of Ouachita won "Best Drumline", "Best Colorguard", and "Best Band" in their specific class. The band then went on to win overall Grand Champions. This is the first time in recent history that any band from this area has won a marching contest. Congratulations on an outstanding job!
The band will now attend the District I Marching Festival on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 in Malone Stadium on the campus of ULM. The band will take the field at 7:00 pm. The band will later travel to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana for their annual marching contest. The NSU contest will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004.
