News: Shady Grove Elementary gets $15,000 Computer Lab

Shady Grove Elementary School had its kickoff ceremony for its new computer lab on Friday, April 23, 2004. The kickoff ceremony was the dedication of the $15,000 computer lab from GTECH Corporation as part of the company's After School Advantage Program. Many local and state guests including Supt. Bob Webber, Mayor Jamie Mayo, Marshal Wince Highshaw, and First Assistant State Treasurer Ron Henson were invited to help celebrate the donation. News media, including The News Star and local TV stations, were in attendance. The new lab includes computers, software, printers, and furniture. The lab will be used after school, as well as during school, to help enrich math and reading skills. The students and staff are very excited about the new lab equipment.
