Ace the Warhawk Visits A. L. Smith
Posted on Tuesday, January 12 @ 14:48:35 CST by aline

OPSB News The University of Louisiana Monroe recently donated Ace’s Adventures Activity Books to 3rd and 4th grade students across Ouachita Parish. Ace the Warhawk himself visited students at A. L. Smith Elementary to kick-off the presentation.

ULM President Dr. James Cofer, First Lady Deborah Cofer and Ouachita Parish Superintendent Dr. Bob Webber were on hand to help Ace deliver the second activity book in the series titled, “Ace Solves the Case of Staying Healthy.” The second book is packed with information on nutrition and proper exercise. It places the mascot in great on-campus exercise spots such as Brown Stadium, the Natatorium and the Activity Center. The first book, “Ace Explores Campus,” taught students in Pre-K through 2nd grade about biology, conservation, music, art and more.

A. L. Smith Elementary principal Dena Leggett, along with teachers and students, were excited to meet Ace and receive the books. Thanks to the ULM faculty and staff for this valuable contribution!
