CAMPUS VIEWPOINTS
The News-Star gives students the opportunity to have their voices heard on its editorial page. They offer Campus Viewpoints - a forum for college, high school or junior high school students to share their opinions with their readers - on the daily editorial page. This is an opportunity for students to express their ideas in the northeastern Louisiana community.
Topics for Campus Viewpoints are flexible and up to the individuals. Students may express opinions on school, local, state or national issues - the article may be favorable or express disapproval or the need for something different. An opinion piece may be something that a student simply wishes to express, or it may be an essay or opinion as part of a class assignment.
The News-Star asks that an article be 300 words or less. Students submitting opinions for Campus Viewpoints should include their name, school, age, grade, town and telephone number (a phone number is needed to confirm the article and is not published).
Campus Viewpoints may be submitted via e-mail to letters@thenewsstar.com (Word or text format) or sent by fax to 318-362-0273. If anyone has any questions, please contact The News-Star Editorial Page Editor Barry Johnson at bjohnson@thenewsstar.com or at 318-362-0270.
