OPHS Bids Farewell to Coach
Job Openings Ouachita Parish High School would like to wish Coach Casey Jones the best of luck as he takes over the basketball program at Longview High School. Coach Jones has been a part of the Ouachita basketball program for 16 years, while serving as head coach the last 9 years. During his nine-year tenure as head coach, Coach Jones has compiled an overall record of 281-67, an .807 overall winning percentage. His 2009 and 2010 teams recorded a combined record of 69-11 while winning the 2009 Class 5A State Championship.

Under Coach Jones’ leadership, the Ouachita basketball program maintained its status as one of the premiere programs in the state of Louisiana, winning nine straight district championships, including two Top 28 Tournament berths. “I cannot say enough about the type of coach that Casey Jones is on the floor and the type of person that he is off of the court,” commented Ouachita principal Todd Guice. Guice continued, “I wish him and his family continued success as they make their transition to Texas.”

Guice stressed the importance of the school to move quickly and deliberately in the search of the next head basketball coach of the Lions. “We will look for the right person to continue to build on the tradition of Ouachita Lions Basketball,” Guice said.

Ouachita will take applications from perspective coaches until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th. Interested coaches should contact Ouachita principal Todd Guice or Ouachita Athletic Director Fred McHenry.
